General Description

The Clinical Applications Analyst supports the various clinical and imaging systems in the center by implementing the system, troubleshooting and resolving problems.  The Analyst is responsible for a fundamental understanding of the clinical/imaging systems being supported, and understanding of the available technology and technical infrastructure necessary to support the application.  The Analyst also has a thorough understanding of the clinical and business processes that drive the systems.

Specific Duties

 

·         Provide functional and technical application support, including requirements analysis, application design, program code, testing and implementation for clinical systems

·         Supports new business initiatives with customizations and/or enhancements to systems, as needed

·         Acts as center of expertise for ProCure staff to leverage clinical systems to meet patient care and research goals

·         Collaborate with ProCure medical physics management and staff to build, enhance, maintain appropriate systems

·         Research, design and build interfaces between ProCure clinical systems, as well as between ProCure systems and partner clinical systems

·         Document system functions and processes for the IT group, as well as selected items for other users

·         Ensure all of the clinical systems have appropriate back-ups and disaster recovery procedures

·         Collaborate with ProCure training staff to assist with creating/maintaining appropriate training documentation

·         Collaborate with other IS staff in developing/implementing related applications and interfacing to other ProCure applications and systems

·         Develop and execute testing plans as needed to ensure stability of production environment

·         Plan and implement upgrades, bug fixes, etc. as needed

·         Acts as liaison to partner hospital to coordinate system access, upgrades, capacity planning, DR, etc.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Experience Requirements

·         Minimum of four (4) years of experience designing, implementing, interfacing and supporting clinical and imaging applications.

·         Strong knowledge/experience in clinical information and imaging systems (IMPAC experience preferred)

·         Knowledge of DICOM and other appropriate standards preferred

·         Knowledge/experience building interfaces between systems, and experience with interface engines (OpenEngine, E*Gate, etc.)

·         Knowledge of web-based applications and web technologies

·         Experience with appropriate development tools and languages

·         Relational database and query tool experience preferred

·         Knowledge of application security principles

·         Experience in a healthcare environment preferred

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·         Good customer service skills

·         Good written and verbal communications skills

·         Good project management skills

 

Education Requirements

·         BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience

  • Training and certifications in clinical information/imaging systems preferred

  • Will work in Warrenville, IL.
