Animated Model of a ProCure Proton Therapy Center

The animation walks through the center into the gantry treatment room. The gantry allows for full rotation (360 degrees) of the proton beam around the patient.  The patient is moved precisely into the treatment position by a robotic patient positioning system. The animation ends with the therapy control system room.

The standard ProCure facility includes:

  • A 230-250 MeV fixed-energy isochronous cyclotron that provides a continuous proton beam.
  • Four treatment rooms: two dual-inclined-beam rooms; one fixed horizontal beam room; and one gantry treatment room. Each room is equipped with a beam scanning nozzle, robotic patient positioning system, and a patient alignment system employing a robotic X-ray system. ProCure uses only active beam spreading systems that support intensity-modulated proton therapy
  • A therapy control system that will provide the interface to control and monitor equipment to deliver effective treatment to the patient safely
