Cost and Coverage

Proton therapy is typically covered by Medicare and many commercial insurance providers. The cost of proton therapy varies based on your condition, medical history, number of treatments, insurance coverage, type of benefit plan and other factors.

At ProCure, we are in-network with many insurance providers, including Medicare, Medicaid, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Oxford Health, Consumer Health Network (CHN), HealthFirst, Healthsmart, Multiplan, Qualcare, Tricare, US Family Health Plan (USFHP) and many others. Even if you don’t see your insurance plan listed here, we will still work with your provider to determine your out-of-network benefits.

ProCure has financial counselors dedicated to guiding you through the insurance process and will work with you to review your benefits (such as co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket costs), complete the necessary paperwork and navigate through any complexities that may arise.

If your insurance provider denies the coverage for proton therapy, don’t be discouraged. It may take several appeals before your case is approved. Our team is equipped and committed to assisting you with the appeal process, as well as exploring financial options in order to avoid a delay in treatment. During this process, we will assist in writing letters of medical necessity, responding to insurer questions, and providing any supporting documentation, as needed, on your behalf (with your authorization).
